Annual MCBA Unity Breakfast
The Multi Cultural Bar Alliance (MCBA) holds a Unity Breakfast annually. This breakfast is intended to bring officers, directors and members of the MCBA together in an informal setting to expand its reaches and inform the members of its activities and future event. The Iranian American Lawyers Association (IALA) as a member of MCBA participates in this event annually. This year, IALA former president P. Patrick Ashouri and Vishta Farahani IALA vice president were present at the meeting.
It is note worthy to mention that Mia F. Yamamoto, MCBA co-founder and current co-chair of MCBA will be one of the 2008 recipients of the American Bar Association (ABA) Spirit of Excellence Award.

ABA Spirit of Excellence Awards
The Spirit of Excellence Award celebrates the achievements of diverse lawyers and others who contribute to the legal profession and society. Awards are presented to lawyers who excel in their professional settings; who personify excellence on the national, state, or local level; and who have demonstrated a commitment to racial and ethnic diversity in the legal profession.
The ABA Commission on Racial and Ethnic Diversity in the Profession is a diverse group of committed lawyers that, through its work and programs, is the catalyst for creating leadership and economic opportunities for racially and ethnically diverse lawyers within the ABA and the legal profession.
